What is CommuniTea?

HandleBar owner Tatyana Telnikova likes to get things done. Feeling a sense of helpless after Trump's win in the 2024 presidential election, she started to meet with friends on Wednesday evenings to do . . . something. The meetings stalled after awhile due to overwhelm under a glut of ever-horrifying political news. In February of 2026, she was inspired to regroup & form CommuniTea.

CommuniTea is a weekly meeting from 5-8p here at HandleBar in the Grove. Tatyana serves free tea and cookies, opening the bar to all individuals to connect, meet folks, form mutual aid groups, and hear from community leaders. Expect to get involved: help your neighbors, make a call to an elected official, volunteer for a non-profit or individual cause. Need support? Come tell your new friends.
